Watcher at the gates of time...so silently
payed the highest price to be eternally free.
Saw you flying over a meadow,
like a butterfly out of the shadow
with a tiny sundrop on your golden head
listened to those lovely words you said:
"See tonight we´ll fly the evening sky....
and together hand in hand we let the days go by, days go by.
Cause tomorrow never knows, tomorrow never knows
here and now is all in vain.

In the early evening wind...the time stood still
all these endless tears you cried on mankinds overkill
all these ages full of the dark night
all these days without a sunlight
a thousand lifetimes spent in endless pain
another body and the same..

all these water flow into...the endless sea
all these barriers breaking down...between you and me.
so let yourself slide away...
into the early light of everyday
let the sun shine in your golden heard.
there´s no feeling of apart anymore

and together hand in hand we let the days go by.... days go by
and the tomorrow always knows, tomorrow always knows
